Q. What are the benefits of using Communico’s Roam vs Polaris leap?
A. Roam allows for a much broader set of activities thanks to its integration with the rest of the Communico platform. In addition to managing patron accounts and searching the catalog, you can also sign patrons up for events, help them book a room, pull up details about another branch and submit a security alert.
Q. Do you think services like curbside are here to stay long term?
A. Yes. In speaking with our customers as well as conducting polling during our webinars, we've found that most libraries plan to offer curbside post-pandemic. While they may scale back the hours or the branches it is offered at, they see the value in permanently offering this service to customers. In fact, some Communico libraries were offering curbside pick up before the pandemic after identifying a demand for it within their community.
Q. Do I need to purchase any special hardware to offer self check?
A. No. Communico's check module may be used with any digital device. Your library can use it within whatever internet-connected device fits the physical space in your branch or your budget.
Q. Will the app be built using my library colors/logos?
A. Yes, all our apps are built to use your library's branding.
Q. Will Roam work if we take it outside the library to use a various community events?
A. Yes, as long as your device has cellular support or is connected to wifi.
