Prevent Patrons from Placing Holds

We understand that many of you are modifying or suspending patron services in an effort to encourage self-isolation. As a result, several libraries have requested the ability to prevent patrons from placing a hold on materials from within their mobile app.

Blocked Hold Notification

We have two ways to manage this, depending on the outcome you are looking for:

Option 1: If only some pickup locations are closed, we can suppress those specific locations for you.

 
Option 2: If you are currently not allowing any holds to be placed at all, we can configure the app to display a message that says ‘holds are temporarily unavailable.’

 

When you are ready to resume holds for any or all locations, please open a support ticket and the team will revert your app back to its original hold/pickup configuration.
