Our latest product updates include significantly faster bar code scanning capabilities in Roam and Engage and the addition of a popular enhancement request for Schedule.
A fix has been pushed to revert action center filters to default to ‘all’ instead of having to select an option from the dropdown menu.
We have made extensive updates to our barcode scanner which appears in both Engage and Roam. The scanner allows patrons to look up a title by scanning the ISBN number when checking out items within Engage, or to look up a patron by scanning their library card within Roam.
These updates have made the scanner remarkably fast, enabling it to automatically detect the barcode once it is within the camera without any delays for focusing or zooming. Please be aware that scanner speed is also impacted by each device’s processing power, so performance may be slower on older devices. We’ve also added support for several additional barcode types including Codabar.
App updates will be pushed out over the next two weeks and will include these updated scanner capabilities. In order to avoid delays, please make sure to check your iOS and Android accounts to ensure all developer agreements have been accepted.
You may now add a custom button under the ‘My Account’ section of your Engage mobile application.

We will be releasing this much-anticipated feature for the Schedule module next week. In addition to being able to edit appointments, staff will now be able to create appointments on behalf of patrons directly from your Control Panel. Please be on the lookout for this new button on your Schedule appointment listing page.
Exception reasons will now indicate when appointments are unavailable because a branch is closed. Previously the patron facing calendar simply indicated that no appointments were available.
