I’m pleased to share with you the latest enhancements to have been pushed out to the Communico modules. Additionally, there are a number of tools being developed behind the scenes to streamline the support and development process. 

 

ATTEND

NEW FEATURE: Our Public Attend API now supports sortBy & sortOrder

This increases the flexibility of the Attend module by allowing you to request your data pre-sorted by either: event Id, recurring event Id, start time, title, or publication date. Returned to you in either ascending or descending order.

RESERVE

NEW FEATURE: Room Reports

We’ve added another two report types for you. These being: ‘Room’ and ‘Room Layout’ reports.

Your new 'Room' report includes features such as:
  • Associated assets
  • Dimensions
  • Child Rooms

To mention but a few.

  • Capacity
  • Set up and breakdown times
  • Locations where they are used

To mention but a few.

 

Access to Room Administration

In my last update I mentioned that we’re exploring ways to get more of the room administration tools into your hands. We’ve taken some steps in that direction to:

  • Our Design team have been working on creating a dedicated area within the Control Panel for your room set-up and management.
  • Our Development team have created a batch upload tool to speed up the set-up and bulk modification process. That’s currently in testing with our CSMs.

 

ENGAGE

Self-check now supported for OCLC Wise

Patron Self-check is now supported in the Engage app for our customers using OCLC’s Wise ILS. We continue to work with them to get access to more functionality, so we can bring you and your patrons the best experience possible.

If you’d like to add this to your Engage app please contact Customer Support and we'll get it added in for you. Please note that Wise credentials and a working SIP2 are required for this feature. 

 

CREATE

Checksum supported in Digital Card Signup widget for Sierra

Digital Card Signup, for Sierra customers, now supports the addition of a checksum digit in the barcode creation step. If this is something that would be helpful to you, reach out to your CSM or our Customer Support team and we'll get it turned on for you.  

 

ROOM BOOKER

Include 'Attendee numbers' in your booking flow

You can now ask your patrons to specify how many people will be using your rooms, when they book via the Room Booker App. This feature is optional but if you’d like to take advantage of it, please reach out to our our Customer Support team and we'll add the 'attendees' field to your config.

 

 

BEHIND THE SCENES

We’ve been working on a number of tools to help do some of the heavy lifting for our development teams. This frees them up to work on your new ideas and bring new modules online.

Some of our highlights have been:
  • Automated code deployments
  • Test buttons for some of your 3rd party integrations, such as your ILS and SIP2 connections and your PayPal account link. These help our Support team to more quickly identify issues with your other vendors. In time, we hope to evolve this capability to pro-actively check your connections so we can troubleshoot issues before a single patron has noticed. 
  • SSL Validator tools. To help us debug issues with your SSL certificates and point you in the right direction, should they contain errors.
